President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the gas explosion that occurred in Nasarawa State.
DAILY POST had reported that several persons were roasted beyond recognition and others injured in a gas explosion that occurred at the popular Natson gas station in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Speaking on the incident, Nasarawa State Government confirmed two persons dead and 37 others injured in the gas explosion.
The Deputy Governor, Mr Silas Agara, who gave the figure during on-the-spot assessment visit to the scene of the incident, said that the government would take the necessary steps to unravel the cause of the accident.
Reacting, Buhari in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja commiserated with the victims of the explosion.
The statement read in part: “The president, who was briefed about the scale of destruction of life and property expressed grave concern over the high toll in the incident.
“He consoled the bereaved families and appealed to the state and federal authorities and well-meaning persons in the state to ensure that the best medical assistance was provided to the injured persons.
“He wished that this kind of tragedy never happened to any part of the country.”
