The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has called for the dismissal of the commandant in charge of the Army Barracks in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
The body said the commandant should be sacked for allegedly ordering the killing of students of the Nasarawa State University Keffi, NSUK, on Monday.
The deceased and their colleagues were protesting against water scarcity in and around campus when they were killed by soldiers deployed to the area to quell the protest.

Within few hours, four students lost their lives while many others sustained injuries.
Among those critically injured is Rabiu Omame Tijani, President of the Student Union Government, SUG.
A 300 Level Theatre Arts student, female told Dailypost that the SUG leader, a final year Accounting student who led the protest was seized by the soldiers and beaten to stupor.
Ahmed Jubril, NANS National Vice President, National Affairs, in a statement said, The commandant in charge of the soldiers should be dismissed immediately, he lacks professional attributes in his call to duty.
NANS said it would visit the institution on Tuesday, to ascertain the degree of injuries inflicted on its members and the level of damage caused by the soldiers.
Already, the Nigerian police have confirmed the killings but denied that its officers were responsible for the shootings.
Meanwhile, the institution has been shut by the state government.
