Residents of Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State have been thrown into shock after they discovered the lifeless bodies of a couple, Mr. Femi Oguntunwase and his wife, Modupe.
According to reports, the corpses of the couple were found in the nude in their apartment at New Sight area of Oba-Ile in Akure North LGA of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Femi Joseph, confirming the report to newsmen on Wednesday, said the cause of death had not been ascertained as at press time, however, they were believed to have died after their breakfast as suggested by the scene where the nude bodies laid.
“A bowl of pap and beans cake was seen beside the deceased which showed that they died after taking their breakfast on Saturday.
He said, “The body of the husband was found naked on the floor, while his wife, Modupe, who was almost naked, was in a wrapper with a bottle of palm oil found beside the couple.
“The bodies were found by a neighbour.
“We got the report of the incident and we are still investigating to get the cause of the death. The bodies have been deposited at the hospital for autopsy; it is after the autopsy that we will know the next step to take.
“No arrest has been made,” Joseph noted.
A resident of the area, who identified himself as Seluwa, said the couple was seen in the morning of the fateful day hale and hearty.
Seluwa added that the neighbours were surprised to hear the news of their death in the afternoon.
