An Abuja Federal High Court on Thursday rejected an application by former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh, seeking ex-National Security Adviser,NSA, Col Sambo Dasuki(Rtd) to testify in his ongoing trial.
The Justice Okon Abang-led court also refused Metuh’s prayer asking he be allowed to travel to the United Kingdom, UK for treatment.
Ruling on both applications seeking Dasuki’s appearance, the trial judge said the application lacked merit and that the ex-NSA was not a “compellable witness”.
The former PDP spokesperson is currently facing trial before the Justice Abang-led court for allegedly receiving the sum of N400 million from Dasuki.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the money was part of the fund meant for the procurement of arms for the military prosecuting the war against Boko Haram terrorists in the North East.
