Barely a month after an Abuja-based lady, Charity Aiyedogbon, went missing after while on a road trip, Another Mr. Hope Ejerovbo has reportedly gone missing on a road walk after he visited his niece in Lagos state.
The 49-year-old father of three was said to have arrived Ajah, Lagos state on July 4 from Warri, Delta State and had gone missing after going for an early morning walk the following day.
The native of Uhrobo, Delta state who is said to have been in Lagos to facilitate his trip to the United Kingdom, where he was set to reunite with his wife and children, left his niece’s residence where he was putting up, for the walk but never returned.
As at press time, his numbers have been unreachable, the Nation is reporting.
His niece’s husband, who identified himself only as Abraham, said Mr. Ejerovbo’s disappearance has left his family frightened.
He noted that they are most confused as to whether he was killed or kidnapped, especially since they are yet to receive any call for ransom.
Abraham said, “Mr Ejerovbo, an easy-going man, very thorough and does not have many friends, was last seen at about 7pm, last week Monday, July 4, 2016 around the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
“He decided to take a walk down the street to familiarize himself with the environment and never returned. I saw him when I came out of my room in the morning and he said he was going to take a walk down the street. I believed it would be a short walk because he does not really know this area.”
He said it was his wife who opened the gate for the missing man and that was the last they saw him, hinting that Ejerovbo is over five feet tall and dark in complexion.
Continuing, he said, “At about 8:30am, we became worried about his whereabouts. We tried calling his mobile phone and discovered it was switched off and that got us extremely worried. I stepped out and searched the whole neighbourhood till noon but did not find him.
“I then went to the police station to report him missing.”
When contacted, the Lagos state Police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmus, told the newspaper the missing man is yet to be found.
Badmos, however, enjoined the general public to report any information that could lead to Mr. Ejerovbo’s discovery at the nearest police station.
