A mild drama played out at Konwea Plaza in Asaba, Delta State after a chicken allegedly pecked a buyer, identified as Sunday Ibie to coma, SUNDAY SUN reports.
The incident which happened on Friday was said to have saw the crowd who were at the scene to scamper for safety.
It was learnt that the mysterious chicken which was put on sale alongside others by the plaza, allegedly pecked Ibie in his eyes, leaving him unconscious, before he was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Asaba for medical attention.
Reacting to the incident, the seller, Mama Ekene said the bird suddenly attacked Ibie after they had settled for N3,000.
She said: “I am shocked too because when I brought out the boiler, I did not know it was mysterious, only to strike the man right inside his eyes and he fell down and I raised the alarm for help.”
Confirming the incident, the State Police Spokesperson, Celestina Kalu said, “What baffled everybody was the way and manner the broiler attacked the victim right inside his eyes.”
Celestina further added that the seller has been arrested and investigation was ongoing on the matter.
