A Pastor’s wife, Opeyemi Babatola, has committed suicide in Akure, Ondo state capital.

According to her husband, Pastor Adeolu Babatola, the deceased informed him that she was going for a church programme, until her decomposing corpse was discovered three days later.

He told Police detectives in Ondo State that his wife’s remains were seen hanging in an uncompleted flat in their backyard after she had said she was going to the mountain to pray last Friday.

The pastor said: “On Monday morning, I went to the back of the other apartment in the house and discovered that there were many houseflies on the window and decided to open it only to discover the dangling body of my wife. So, I raised alarm.

“I invited the Police to the scene, but they could not do anything to untie my wife until some traditionalists were invited to bring down her corpse.”

The Ondo state police spokesman, Femi Joseph, while confirming the incident, noted that detectives have commenced investigation.

Joseph said that, “the husband is with us and helping us in our investigation. He narrated his side of the story and we are still investigating his claims.
