“My government will never discriminate against any community” – Mimiko

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has said that his administration would not discriminate against any community, despite the outcome of the just concluded governorship election in the respective communities.

Iroko, as he’s fondly called by fans and admirers said that his government would extend its helping hands to every citizen of the state. He promised the distribution of amenities to all communities.

The Governor said this on Friday while speaking at the burial of the Chairman of Akoko South West Local Government, Lady Opeyemi Adefarati, in Oka Akoko, who died in a road accident recently.

Mimiko said: “My government will never discriminate against any community in whatever guise, irrespective of the results of the last governorship election in the state. “Our commitment to the overall well being of every citizen of this state remains unshaken as well as the even distribution of amenities among all communities.”

He noted that one of the most important gains made during the last governorship polls was the maintenance of peaceful atmosphere under which the election took place.

The Governor told the congregation at St, John’s Anglican Church that the construction of a road from Akungba Akoko to Simerin would commence in no distant time.

He said: “We have done excellent engineering job at the Okia end as part of measures to bring down the rate of accidents and also to ensure the longevity of the road. “Now the state government has also decided to construct a road that will run from Akungba Akoko to Simerin Oka in order to circumvent this problematic area and reduce dangers on the road.”

He described the late Adefarati as an unforgettable performer whose tenure was filled with dedication, sincerity, diligence and integrity in the course of her assignment.
