Roberto Mancini’s son, Andrea, has said that his father is a better tactician than Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho. The young Italian, who plies his trade at Real Valladolid, says his father’s experience as a player stands him apart, although he praised Mourinho’s man management skills.
“They’re not alike. My father was a player for many years and it shows,” Mancini told Marca. “He has a lot of experience and knows more about football than Mourinho.
“Mourinho is more of a psychologist, more of a motivator. He knows how keep the players’ heads in the right place. The ideal manager would be a cross between the two.”
The 20-year-old midfielder, also believes his father deserves more credit, even as he is on the brink of elimination in the Champions League this season.
“I don’t understand the criticism. He just won the Premier League with Manchester City, which the club hadn’t won for 44 years,” he said. “I don’t know what else he’s got to do.”
Andrea Mancini left Manchester City for Spain this summer, without making an appearance at the Etihad.
