Suleiman Ukandu, an Islamic Scholar in Abia state, has advised the South East leaders of the All Progressives Congress,APC, regarding their continued projection of Nigeria President of Igbo extraction in 2023.

He asserted that President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government would not allow a level playing field for the emergence of a South easterner as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 2023 general elections.

Ukandu, who made the assertion in an interview with reporters, in Umuahia, on Wednesday, stated that it would be just if the region is allowed to take its shot in the nation’s seat of power(Aso villa), adding that other geopolitical zones had taken their turns.

He pointing out that the APC poor outing during the just concluded general elections in the zone, was a major factor that would not guarantee Igbo president in 2023 under the current Buhari administration.

“Igbo Presidency cannot be actualized in APC or through any political party. I don’t believe that. Unless Nigeria, can as a matter of fact, respect the conventional agreement that is guarding the country, a south easterner will not be President of Nigeria.

“The internal dynamic of Nigeria creation and its governmental structure is predicated on tripod, and these tripod is the recognition of the Igbos as large ethnic society, the Yoruba’s and Hausa’s.

Ukandu admonished ndigbo to work hard and align with other ethnic societies in the country to enable the zone occupy the nation’s number one seat in future.
