Leicester City winger, Ahmed Musa, has reacted to FIFA’s decision to shortlist one of his goals at the just concluded 2018 World Cup, for Goal of the Tournament.
Musa scored twice, as the Super Eagles beat Iceland 2-0 in their second group game, to keep their hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 at the time.
FIFA nominated his second goal, where he dribbled around Iceland’s defence to seal victory.
Musa took to his Instagram page to describe his nomination as an honour.
He wrote: “It is an honour to be nominated for Goal of the Tournament. One of my best football memories so far! Go on to Fifa.com and cast your vote before 23rd July.
“Your love and support is always appreciated. Naija All the way.”
The list for the ‘Goal of the tournament’ includes Cristiano Ronaldo’s third goal against Spain and Lionel Messi’s goal against Nigeria.
The voting for the Best Goal in Russia 2018 will be open until July 23 on FIFA’s official website.
