Murray to face Djokovic in French Open final

Andy Murray has qualified for the final of the French Open, by defeating defending champion Stan Wawrinka 6-4 6-2 4-6 6-2.

It is the first ever time the Scot will play at the final of Roland Garros and his 10th career Grand Slam final.

“I’m extremely proud,” he said.

“I never expected to reach the final here, I always struggled on the clay. I hope I can put on a good match on Sunday.”

Murray will face Novak Djokovic on Sunday, after the world number one brushed aside Dominic Thiem in the other semi-final.

It will be a seventh Grand Slam final meeting between the two men and Djokovic has won four of the previous six.
