While Nigerian Nollywood Actor, Muna Obiekwe’s death remains a shock to most of his fans, his half sister, Chinwe Obiekwe, has given reasons the late Nollywood star kept the illness to himself and refused to ask for help from the public.
Chinwe, speaking in an interview with inside Nollywood during her half brother’s burial said Muna’s sickness began last year October, adding that his kidney problem wasn’t a normal one.
“Muna was sick from last year October. It wasn’t a normal kidney failure. It was a high BP that prompted the failure”.
She also said the time frame wasn’t enough to save the deceased’s life.
“It did not give us time to do the kidney transplant because his two kidneys failed”.
The deceased half sister also added that if only the star’s both kidneys weren’t affected, a transplant would have been done to save the star’s life.
“Assuming it was a normal kidney failure, it was supposed to be one kidney. My uncles were planning to come back to Nigeria and operate on him/do transplant. Then he died on Sunday.
The star’s half sister also added that Muna’s high blood pressure wasn’t link to any family issue but disclosed that the star was always on set and that may have resulted to the stress.
“Anybody can have high blood pressure BP, it wasn’t a family problem”.
“He was always on set; he didn’t have much time to take his medicine properly”. She added.
When asked why Muna neva asked for help, she said; “ Muna is a very private person. You people are surprised that he didn’t bring out what was wrong with him on the internet because he was a man.
She added that her family was ready and that Muna was getting the right treatment from his family before his death.
However, Chinwe expressed her anger on those lashing on his late brother for not begging for help by saying; “to those who say he didn’t open up….I’m going to use this term…F-K them…. now that he is dead…. did those people come to contribute to his burial?
“So this is the reason he saw everything and refused to ask for help,” she said.
