A 22-year-old woman identified as Mireya Alejandra Lopez in New Zealand has been arrested and arraigned for killing her 2-year-old twin boys on Sunday.
According to police authorities, the twin boys were confirmed dead after they were found in a bathtub Sunday, adding that the mother of the toddlers while been interrogated said she intentionally drowned both of them and she also attempted to drown another child but was stopped by a family member.
Lopez was charged with two counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide.
12 News reports that someone who discovered the twins submerged in water dragged them out
And tried to resuscitate them before they were taken to separate hospitals where they were confirmed dead.
It’s not yet clear why she killed her children.
