Tragedy struck along the Lekki area of Lagos on Sunday as a multiple road clash left three persons dead while eight others sustained varied degrees of injuries.
The crash happened at Marwa Roundabout at about 1pm, causing heavy gridlock on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
A commercial taxi was said to have rammed into a car before hitting another car.
However, a source at the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, told The Nation that three persons died while eight others were injured.
The source further stated that the incident occurred as a result of over-speeding.
“I really do not have much information on it but I overheard a colleague who said three people died and eight were injured. He also said it happened just by the bridge at Lekki second roundabout and involved three vehicles. He also said the accident was caused by over-speeding. That is all I know,” the source said.
