Some days ago, one of the hottest topics that was discussed on Nigerian social media was the issue of the ‘transactional sex’ statement made by Folarin Falana, better known by his stage name, Falz.
Falz made it known that he hated transactional sex and he would keep talking about it in his song. This made social media to react sensitively to the statement made by Falz.
The lawyer turned musician was also blasted for slut-shaming ‘runz Girls’ on his new released song titled ‘Talk,’ off his new Moral Instruction album.
Some critics believed Falz was being unfair and one sided, he was tagged a misogynist for not also attacking the men who employ the services of these prostitutes he talks negative about.
This argument has been on for days and has also caught the attention of some celebrities, one of which is the movie director, Kemi Adetiba.
Adetiba in a series of messages shared on her instagram story, said that she will not be bullied to accept what is wrong and see it as being right, vice versa.
She further said she wouldn’t want anyone she knows to engage in transactional sex, hence, she won’t support it, nor respect the act, even though she respects their decisions.
However, she suggested that both the ‘transactor’ and the ‘transactee’ should be called out as both do not deserve her respect.
