Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, will be paid over £30million if Roman Abramovich eventually sacks him.
The club released a statement on Monday, pledging to stick with Mourinho, who is currently under immense pressure with the Blues sitting in the 16th place after four defeats in the league.
Mourinho signed a new contract extension worth around £8.5million a year in the summer and this ties him to the Stamford Bridge outfit until 2019.
However, with the recent trend of results, Chelsea is in serious danger of missing out of the Champions League next season. If they lose to Aston Villa after the international break, the board could yet change their mind about Mourinho.
No Premier League club has ever made it into the top four, after picking up eight points from their first eight games.
