Jose Mourinho has committed his future to Chelsea, by signing a new four-year contract with the Premier League champions.

The Portuguese coach won his third Premier League title with the Blues last season and also lifted the Capital One Cup.

In his first stint at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho spent three years, before he fell out with Russian owner, Roman Abramovich and was sacked. But it seems the pair have a much better relationship and Mourinho will now stay longer at the club.

“If the club is happy, I am happy,” Mourinho said.

“I think this is a normal thing for me to sign a new contract. It is important we have this continuity and I hope we can enjoy more success in the future – for the fans, the players and the club”.

Chelsea will begin the defence of their trophy, with a game at home against Garry Monk’s Swansea City.
