Mourinho says he is content with current Chelsea squad

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, has insisted there will be no major overhaul of his squad during this summer transfer window.

The Premier League leaders have already won the Capital One Cup, but were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain.

There have speculations that Mourinho will strengthen his team and the Stamford Bridge outfit have been linked with Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

“Our transfer policy doesn’t need a lot of funds, because we don’t need a lot of things. We like our squad, we like our players and with a couple of exceptions we have a young squad,” Mourinho said.

“And once more, I think our transfer policy will be nice and quiet and will also be a consequence of the players we sell and the funds we make from the players we sell.

“I think we are getting great credibility from the players we sell, because we sell good players.

“So, let’s see what happens. But at this moment if you ask me am I happy with the players I have here, I am happy with the squad I have.

“If you ask me you say zero movement in and out, I say I don’t believe because we always want to improve and there are always a couple of changes to be made.

“But nothing really important. I am not worried about funds because they are fine”, he said.

Mourinho, who was speaking ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Hull, dismissed the talk about Pogba and stated that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will become a more prominent squad member next term.

He added: “I don’t think about Pogba or other players. The only thing I can tell you is we look at our midfield players. And between Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, Ramires, Ruben, Mikel is injured – we have a good group and I believe a lot in Ruben.

“Next season the squad will be made in a way that Ruben will not be a number, he will compete for a position”.
