Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has said it would be a mistake for the club to sell goalkeeper David de Gea to Real Madrid this summer.
De Gea has been courted by the Spanish giants for many years.
He almost completed a £30million move to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2015, but the move broke down because the necessary paperwork wasn’t filed in time.
Real are expected to try to sign him again at the end of the season, but Mourinho wants the 27-year-old to remain at Old Trafford and attempt to win his second Premier League title.
“Do you think a club that is trying to attract the best players is the club that is open to sell the best players? It makes no sense.
“If you want to go to that level you have top attract the best players like we did with Alexis, Matic and Pogba and so on. And don’t let our best players go,” Mourinho said.
