Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has revealed his happiness after the club came out publicly to support him.
Mourinho lost his fourth league game of the current campaign last Saturday in a 3-1 home defeat to Southampton. It ensured that the Blues are stuck in 16th place on the table and are in danger of missing out on Champions League places.
On Monday, the club issued an official statement, in which they wanted “to make it clear that Jose continues to have our full support.”
“That makes me proud. It shows the confidence of Abramovich in the manager who has won three Premier League titles with this club. I thank him and I keep working,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I do not know why the results with Chelsea at the moment are really bad. I can not nor want to hide the reality. And I struggle to find an explanation.
“But I assure you: I’m working like never before and we will come out of it.”
