Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, has hailed a “complete performance” from his players, after they hammered Schalke 5-0 in Germany.
John Terry gave the Blues an early lead in the 2nd minute, heading in Cesc Fabregas’ corner, before Willian doubled the lead.
Jan Kirchhoff scored an own goal, before Didier Drogba and Ramires added further misery to the Bundesliga outfit.
“The team played a fantastic match. At this moment this team is very mature and very confident,” Mourinho said.
“To win 5-0 away in the Champions League is not normal. To win 5-0 in Germany is even more not normal. The performance was complete. It was very impressive.
“We have a good team. Obviously we can lose and the bad result is waiting for us. But the reality is the team is playing very well.”
Chelsea have now qualified for the next round of the Champions League.
