Mourinho ends Real Madrid reign with victory over Osasuna

Jose Mourinho’s last game in charge of Real Madrid ended in a 4-2 home victory.

The Portuguese, who is Chelsea-bound, left out Iker Casillas despite Diego Lopez’s injury and started with Jesus Fernandez in goal. Cristiano Ronaldo missed the game, because of back injury, while a handful of players from the youth team on the bench.

Los Blancos grabbed a two-goal advantage, thanks to a smart finish from Gonzalo Higuain and a Michael Essien header. Osasuna fought back to level scores through ROberto Torres in the 51st minute and Cejudo 11 minutes later.

However, Karim Benzema and Jose Callejon struck late on, to ensure that Mourinho signed off on a winning note, amidst cheers and jeers from around the Santiago Bernabeu.
