Mourinho cancels press conference after FA charge Costa

Jose Mourinho will not be speaking to the media before Chelsea’s cracker against Manchester City this Saturday.

The Blues boss is furious, after the Football Association decided to charge Diego Costa for violent conduct. The striker was caught by TV cameras stamping on Emre Can, in the 1-0 win over Liverpool in their Capital One Cup semi-final.

Mourinho himself was fined £25,000 by the FA, after he claimed the referees were having a ‘campaign’ against his team, following a 1-1 draw at Southampton last December.

It is understood that Costa will contest the FA’s charge, although it is almost certain he will be handed a three-match ban, meaning he will miss the top-of-the-table clash at Stamford Bridge.

Cesc Fabregas is also struggling with injury, while Filip Luis is a doubt with calf trouble.
