Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, has said that he is “ashamed” of the club’s supporters, who were caught on video racially abusing a man on the Paris Metro.
A group of Blues fans could be seen in the clip, pushing a black man away as he tried to get on a train, after Tuesday night’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.
Mourinho insisted that despite the disgraceful act, he was proud to manage the Premier League team.
“I felt ashamed when I knew what happened but, I repeat, I’m a proud Chelsea manager and I know what this club is,” Mourinho told reporters on Friday.
“We feel ashamed but maybe we shouldn’t. We are not these people. Chelsea is doing everything [to stop racism] since minute one.”
