Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has said labelled their pre-season as “really bad”.
The Red Devils have played only three matches this summer, after poor conditions saw their game against Manchester City in Beijing called off.
United players were however involved in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial on Wednesday evening, their final warm-up game before Sunday’s Community Shield against Leicester City at Wembley.
But Mourinho is not pleased with their preparations ahead of the new season.
“My players need minutes, we had a really bad pre-season because of the Euros and then in China,” he told BT Sport.
“I am sorry for the fans but more important than to win the match is to get minutes in my players’ legs.”
