Mourinho advises Real Madrid on De Gea chase

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has advised his former club, Real Madrid to look elsewhere for a new goalkeeper, saying David De Gea will stay at Old Trafford.

De Gea has continued to be linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, since he almost joined Madrid in 2015.

But speaking ahead of United’s Champions League second leg match against Sevilla at Old Trafford on Tuesday, Mourinho told La Sexta that the Spanish giants should look at other options.

“I see him [De Gea] here. I do not know Real Madrid’s intentions but, if I were them, I would think of another player,” he said.

Madrid, who almost signed Athletic Bilbao keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in January, have also been linked with Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.

But on Saturday, Marca reported that Hajduk Split’s Karlo Letica, 21, was being considered as backup for Keylor Navas.
