One Itohan Enagbare, 28, alongside her four-year-old daughter, Iwinosa, were Wednesday, reportedly murdered in Benin City, Edo State capital by a group of suspected assailants at their residence, 2 Osaze Street, off Dumez Road at about 1:00pm.
According to reports, the assailants stormed the victim’s residence in the afternoon and dragged her downstairs where they stabbed her.
Based on eyewitnesses’ accounts, the woman was stabbed to death while a little baby was locked in the bedroom. Her daughter was also killed because she was allegedly crying loudly before they escaped.
Policemen, reports say, were seen at the crime scene, collecting specimen for analysis, while sympathizers were at the residence consoling Mr. Enagbare, the husband and father of the victims who reportedly urged the police to fish out killers of his wife and daughter.
Meanwhile, following the alleged cult war which has reportedly left five persons killed in Benin, it cannot be ascertained if the assassination of both mother and daughter has any link.
