The Prelate/Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Nzie Nsi Eke has said the rate of political defections may push the country into anarchy.
He stated this on Saturday in Hope Waddell Parish in Calabar, while briefing newsmen on the forthcoming 23rd General Assembly meeting, to mark the 172 years of ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, which began on Friday.
Worried over the state of security in the country, Eke said President Muhammadu Buhari, being the Commander-in-Chief, has all it takes to revamp what he described as the “security architecture in Nigeria.”
While charging members to be actively involved in politics, he said they should get their permanent voters’ card (PVCs) ready, to enable them influence society better.
On current development of the church, he said: “The church intends to take quality educational mission to a new level, through building a university to be named after the pioneer missionary, Hope Waddell.
“I am strongly convinced that the project is achievable.”
