One Ogbuife Chinedu, fondly called Osama Bin Laden has been arrested by the police in Enugu State, alongside another suspect, Ifeanyichukwu Eze, alias ‘Nwa nwanyi agbala’, over the murder of Igwe Peter Onuoha, the traditional ruler of Nkerefi, a community in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.
DAILY POST recalls that the Igwe was murdered on July 11, when hoodlums invaded his royal premises.
Four other people also lost their lives in the process. They were identified as Mr. and Mrs. Ejike Uzor, and one Daniel Ogbu, popularly called Choco.
Another suspect, Sunday Agbara, who was earlier arrested by the police on July 30 in connection with the murder, had confessed that youths in the community organized to assassinate the Igwe over alleged human rights abuses.
The suspects, Bin Laden and Eze are youths from Nkerefi community and are both furniture makers. It was also gathered that Bin Laden deals on marijuana.
They were arrested in a neighbouring community on Monday, where they were supposedly taking refuge after killing the Igwe.
The spokesman for the Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the development, said the police were making effort to trace the other suspects.
