Monaco star, Fabinho reportedly joins Manchester United for £40m

Monaco ace, Fabinho, is reportedly joining Manchester United for £40m in two weeks.

This was disclosed by Italian journalist, Emanuele Giulanelli, who specializes in club transfer news.

According to him, Fabinho’s move to Manchester United is a ‘done deal’ and an official announcement over the club switch is being held up because the player is on holiday.

He, however, claimed the move will be confirmed in two weeks when he is back from his break.

Giulanelli wrote on Twitter: “Fabinho to Manchester United, done deal. Price €45mln, it will be official in two weeks, because he is on holiday. #MUFC#Transfers.”

Meanwhile, it could be recalled that Monaco’s billionaire owner, Dmitri Rybolovlev, had promised not to stop any of the club’s players, if they choose to quit this summer; and Fabinho, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva and Radamel Falcao had also been touted as potential summer departures from the Stade Louis II.

On the other hand, Chris Smalling is heading out of Old Trafford.

The England defender will be axed by Jose Mourinho, and Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace are interested in a deal.

Starsport reported before the Champions League final that Smalling’s time was up.

And with Victor Lindelof’s arrival from Benfica set to be confirmed this week an exit for Smalling is now on the cards. He is joining United in a £31m deal.

Lindelof is currently on international duty with Sweden, but after tomorrow’s clash with Norway will be free to complete the transfer.
