As part of efforts towards curbing crimes in Ondo State, the National President of Miyetti Allah, Alhaji Muhamadu Kirwa, has directed his members who are into cattle rearing in the state, to desist from moving their cattle from 7pm to 6am daily.
It was gathered that the move was the outcome of the recent security summit held in the state, where ways of putting at bay incessant crimes in the state were discussed.
President of the sect, who frowned at the rate of criminal cases in the state, compelled his members to synergize with the state government by moving with their cattle during the approved stipulated hours.
Kirwa, the Ardom of Zuru, who made the statement while on a courtesy call to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in his office, in Akure, assured that any Fulani herdsman who is caught and found guilty would be dealt with after the allegations must have been verified by the office of the Miyetti Allah in the state.
Also, the state Chairman of Miyetti Allah, Bello Garba disclosed that a Fulani vigilante group had already been formed in the state as a result of the outcome of the recent security summit in the state.
Garba, who emphasized that these groups were already active across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state, explained that the special Fulani Vigilante groups were to synergize with the appropriate security agencies towards identifying those with criminal intent and as well to assist in beefing up security in the communities.
According to him, “The Fulanivigilantee groups will help in disclosing the hideouts of kidnappers in the state.”
He also emphasized that since the commencement of the group, two suspected kidnappers have been nabbed.
