Missing NAF jet found on the banks of River Benue

There are indications that the remains of the Nigerian Air Force Jet reported missing on the 12th of September have been spotted on the banks of River Benue in Kwaine, Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

DailyPost recalls that the fighter jet was reported to have left Yola International Airport with two pilots on board and was expected back to base at about twelve noon in what was described as routine operational mission in Boko Haram controlled areas in the state, but was reported missing after authorities tried unsuccessfully to establish contact with it after it went off the radar.

Efforts by the Nigerian Air Force to establish direct contact with the aircraft proved abortive, except claims made by the leader of the Boko Haram sect that they were responsible for the aircraft that reportedly crash landed.

It has, however not been confirmed if the remains of the aircraft found near River Benue belongs to the missing NAF fighter jet.

DailyPost has equally gathered that, the remains of the jet were discovered by fishermen at the bank of River Benue, who alerted security agencies. The area, sources say has been cordoned off by security operatives.
