Nigeria’s Sports Minister Bolaji Abdullahi, has set up a committee to look into the bonus row, that threatened to derail the Super Eagles participation at the FIFA Confederations Cup.

The six-man panel will be chaired by former presidential adviser Segun Adeniyi and includes former international Garba Lawal.

Adeniyi, who is the chairman of ThisDay Editorial Board, was on the Presidential Task Force panel, that increased the Eagles winning bonuses to $10,000.

Others include Aisha Falode, Onochie Anibeze, Shehu Dikko and Akin Oshuntokun. They will determine the cause of the crisis, propose a new code of conduct for the players and make other recommendations. The committee has two weeks from July 11, when they will be inaugurated to submit their report.
