Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko yesterday sworn in two new Commissioners, advising them not to engage in unhealthy competition with their colleagues, but to cooperate with them in order to move the state forward.
The swearing in of the two Commissioners, Mrs Nike Ademujimi and Ogundeji Iroju brought to 20, the number of Commissioners in Mimiko’s cabinet who are running the state for second term of four years.
While Ademujimi, a former chairman of the State Micro-credit Agency is representing Okitipupa Local Government, Iroju, a former Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Project Monitoring would be representing the Odigbo in the Executive Council.
Mimiko warned the two commissioners that the administration has zero tolerance regarding corruption and that the new Commissioners should avoid undue pressures from the people, stating that they cannot satisfy everybody.
The governor said that the new Commissioners should ensure that the resources of the state are not wasted as they are to concentrate on things that would benefit the vast majority of the people rather than yielding to pressure from individuals.
Ademujimi was appointed Commissioner for Commerce and Industries while Iroju is the new Commissioner for Employment and Productivity.
