In a bid to liberate Gwoza, in Borno State from the claws of insurgency, the defence headquarters in a coordinated attack has deployed four attack helicopters and two air force fighter jets to blanket the area.
A military source said the attack helicopters and the fighter jets at about 3pm on Thursday left Yola, Adamawa State en route Gwoza, in an effort to subdue the insurgents.
According to a Punch report, ground troops from Bama, Borno State, and Madagali in Adamawa State, are heading for Gwoza.
It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday affirmed his resolve to stamp out insurgency in Gwoza, an area where the Chibok girls are reportedly been held.
