Militants abduct four Itsekiri leaders in Delta

Gunmen suspected to be militants have kidnapped four Itsekiri leaders and some officials of an indigenous firm, Elcrest in Delta State.

Addressing newsmen, on Friday in Warri, the state capital, the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Andrew Aniamaka, said men of the Command are on the trail of the kidnappers.

“The police backed by the military are on the trail of the hoodlums,” Aniamaka said.

It was gathered that the suspected militants kidnapped the victims in a community in Benin River in Warri North Local Government Area at 5:00p.m on Tuesday, while returning from Ureju community.
