Militant who attacked Peremabiri in Southern Ijaw were led by Ogunboss – Obuebite alleges

Barely 48 hours to Bayelsa State supplementary election, the Director of Publicity of Governor Seriake Dickson’s campaign team, the Restoration Campaign Organisation, RCO, Jonathan Obuebite, has accused a militant group led by General Eris Paul, a.k.a Ogunboss of attacking Peremabiri community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the State, shooting sporadically and forcing the people to scamper for safety.

Obuebite, said this during a live telephone programme on the state-owned media Glory FM in Yenagoa, the state capital.

He said the shootings which occurred on Tuesday lasted for several hours, forced the people to scamper for safety, while business and commercial activities were crippled in the area.

Obuebite, while condemning the state of insecurity in the area, stressed the need for relevant government agencies to step up their games in order to ensure a hitch-free poll in the area, adding that perpetrators of the act should be punished.

He recalled that Dickson had during a press conference, alleged that the All Progressives Congress, APC, was planning to rig the election by unleashing violence and mayhem during the supplementary election billed to hold on Saturday in Southern Ijaw.

“I want to remind the public that Dickson only yesterday, while addressing a world press conference, drew the attention of the public to plot by the APC to rig the rerun election in Southern Ijaw by further unleashing violence.

“The attack on Peremabiri by militants led by General Ogunbos has vindicated our position as a party,” he said.
