Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, is ready to splash the cash in January, despite transforming his team into genuine title contenders this season.
Ever since losing 3-0 to Arsenal in September, the Italian has reverted to a 3-4-3 formation, which has seen the Blues climb up the table. They are currently second behind Liverpool.
But Conte will get support from the Chelsea board to strengthen his team, after he missed out on several targets in the summer, including Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan.
Conte is eyeing a new midfielder, with Cesc Fabregas no longer part of his plans. It is also understood that Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi will not be given a new contract when his current deal expires at the end of the season.
The former Juventus boss, is looking to bring in Inter Milan’s Geoffrey Kondogbia along with Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi.
Conte also wants more depth in defence, despite not conceding a goal in the Premier League since September 24.
