The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), has raised eyebrows on MI and singer, Charass, for wearing Camouflage uniform.
The NDA, in a tweet threatened both the ‘Bad Belle’ rapper, MI and Charass, saying they will be disciplined accordingly.
In short threat via its official handle @TheNDAkaduna, it said, “We have noticed you! And the arm of Bars must prevail.”
Below the tweet were photos of the’ Chocolate City rap star’ and the ‘Coco Butter’ artiste, revealing them in camouflage uniforms.
It will be recalled that last year, The Nigerian Army warned celebrities to desist from wearing the camouflage. After the warning, a gospel artiste was reportedly beaten to a pulp in Abuja by some military men for wearing their uniform.
DAILY POST recalls that for years, citizens who have been caught wearing the military apparel in public have been strictly penalized.
The military in its warning statement on the indiscriminate use of its uniform said, “This is to inform the general public and most especially Nigerian celebrities to desist from the use and abuse of the Nigerian Military camouflage. Several investigations were carried out and we noticed the camouflage is mostly used by Nigerian celebrities in music videos, photo-shoots and concerts.”
They further noted that a Nigerian celebrity, ‘Jesse Jags’ in a video and photo sessions, was allegedly seen smoking marijuana while putting on an Army uniform.
It warned that, “any civilian found wanting irrespective of their social status will be dealt with severely.”
