Lionel Messi has asked Barcelona to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United, Calciomercato reports.
The LaLiga side have already seen Andres Iniesta leave the club after last season and are looking to beef up their midfield options.
After missing out on Antoine Griezmann this summer, Barca have now turned their attentions to another Frenchman, with Pogba seen as an improvement on Paulinho in the centre of the park.
The France midfielder’s arrival at Camp Nou would allow Philippe Coutinho to move out to the wing, providing additional support for Messi.
Pogba set a record for the most expensive transfer when he joined United from Juventus for £89.3million in 2016.
But he has frequently come under criticism for not living up to his price tag and had several run-ins with Mourinho towards the end of the 2017/2018 season.
