Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi, has scored his 500th career goal.
The Argentina captain netted in the 63rd minute of their La Liga clash with Valencia on Sunday, which they lost 2-1 at the Nou Camp.
Messi, who was making his 525th appearance for Barca, has now netted 450 times for the Catalan club and 50 for Albacete.
The 28-year-old scored his first goal for the club in May 2005 against Albacete, while his first international striker came in March 2006 in a 3-2 friendly defeat to Croatia.
Messi’s 450 goals for Barcelona makes him the club’s all-time leading scorer, while his 50 for Argentina puts him in second place, six goals behind Gabriel Batistuta.
