Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, are the final three nominees left in the running to be named UEFA Best Player in Europe.
The three footballers were picked from an initial 10-man list, that included names like Andrea Pirlo, Luis Suarez, Gianluigi Buffon, Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal, Neymar, Eden Hazard and Carlos Tevez.
Messi and Suarez made up two-thirds of Barcelona’s front three, that set a Spanish record for most goals scored by any trio with 122 goals, as they clinched a Treble last season. Although Ronaldo did not win any trophies, the Portugal captain enjoyed another blistering season with Real Madrid.
Journalists from each of UEFA’s 54 member associations, provided five players each and the winner will be announced by a jury vote, at the Champions League group stage draw in Monaco on August 28.
