Messi out for up to 8 weeks with ligament damage

Barcelona have confirmed that their star player, Lionel Messi, will miss the next 7-8 weeks with ligament damage.
The Argentina captain came down under a heavy challenge in the first half, of their La Liga game against Las Palmas. He tried to continue, but was eventually taken off.
A tweet from the club’s official Twitter handle read: “Messi has a tear in the internal collateral ligament of his left knee. He will be out for around 7-8 weeks.”
Barcelona went on to win the match 2-1, thanks to Luis Suarez’s brace. .
