Barcelona ace, Lionel Messi will miss the club’s pre-season tour of the United States following his 2018 FIFA World Cup exploits with Argentina.
Messi has been given extra time to recover from World Cup, even though Argentina were knocked out on June 30 by France.
Barcelona travel to the US on Tuesday for the International Champions Cup.
The La Liga champions will clash with Tottenham, Roma and AC Milan over the next 10 days.
Barcelona coach, Ernesto Valverde will be without Messi. Spain’s Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets also sit out.
Defender, Samuel Umtiti, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele are all still on holiday, as well as Ivan Rakitic, a losing finalist in Russia with Croatia.
