Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi, is reportedly fuming over Real Madrid’s achievements last season and fears Cristiano Ronaldo will beat him to the FIFA Ballon d’Or prize too.
Messi had another brilliant campaign, which saw him score 54 goals in only 52 appearances, but Barca missed out on winning the La Liga title to Zinedine Zidane’s men on the last day of the season.
They were also eliminated from the Champions League by Juventus, who Madrid beat 4-1 in the final to retain the cup.
According to Gol Newsaper, sources from Barcelona’s camp admit Messi is not happy and feels his rival will now equal his record of five Ballon d’Or wins.
The Argentia captain believes it would have been different, if former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, made the right decisions in key games of the season.
Enrique picked defender Jeremy Mathieu against Malaga in La Liga and Juventus in the Champions League.
The Catalans lost both matches.
