Meadow Hall Summer Football Camp with Daniel Amokachi commences

The Meadow Hall Summer Football Camp started today with Daniel Amokachi warmly welcoming the children and then explaining what to expect and what is expected of them. The children were then separated into their different age groups, and then undertook various skill and passing drills to their delight. After their rest period, they were able to play some small-sided matches against their peers. This is where the competitive spirit and excitement of the children really came to the fore. You could see joy in every goal as they tried to mimic the celebrations they see on television.

Every detail appeared very well thought out and thoroughly planned by Amokachi and his team, which was good to see. After the success of the Soccer Camp last year tagged, ‘Christmas Soccer Camp with Daniel Amokachi’ and the way this Summer Camp has begun, I can see it being tremendously beneficial to the children. The commitment of both Amokachi and Meadow Hall to developing the next crop of football stars is clear to see.

Amokachi says he has ‘created a programme that will help youngsters enjoy football and learn the techniques of the game, which will help them even beyond the camp’. In the course of the Summer Football Camp, if we spot a talent, we will discuss with the school and parents and advise them on the next steps to take. Our ultimate aim is to raise world-class football stars hence the operation to catch them young. He also encourages all parents with children interested in football to register as soon as possible.

The Summer Football Camp open to children from Nigeria and other African Countries began with a bang on Tuesday, July 18th, and will run for 4 more days, until the 22nd of July 2017. Registration is still ongoing, and there is a 10% discount for group registration. To register, you can visit HERE
