Italian newspaper, Tuttosport, had initially named a 24-man shortlist for the prize.
But the likes of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford and Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic did not make it to the last stage.
The winner will be revealed on October 23.
Renato Sanches, who is currently on loan at Swansea from Bayern Munich, is the current holder of the prize.
