Mbappe: How Mbappe helped PSG break 82-year-old Ligue 1 record

Paris Saints-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe on Sunday helped his side broke an 82-year-old record of eight consecutive wins set by Olympique Lillois in 1936, after he scored four goals in their 5-0 thrashing of Lyon at home in the Ligue 1 fixture.

The France World Cup winner assisted PSG to set a new French top-flight record of nine straight wins to start a season, having equalled the mark with their 3-0 victory at Nice, two weeks ago.

Mbappe’s fellow teammate, Neymar, put The Parisians in front in the 9 minute after converting a penalty kick.

Mbappe scored all four goals in the second half of the encounter to give PSG a deserved three points.

Speaking after the match, PSG manager, Thomas Tuchel said: “Fantastic, incredible. It was super hard in the first half, it was a crazy match”.

PSG will now take on Amiens SC in their next Ligue 1 fixture on October 20.
