Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state has commenced probe of the immediate administration of his successor, Ibrahim Shehu Shema, by constituting four committees to investigate the activities of four key sectors under the administration.
The committees were constituted by Masari to investigate the activities of the Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency (KASROMA), MDGs/SURE-P, Department of Girl Child Education and State Universal Basic Education.
The four committees have the same terms of reference which includes: ascertaining location and status of projects/programmes executed by the agencies from 2011 to 2015 and to determine whether or not funds earmarked were judiciously allocated and economically used.
Other terms of reference for the committees are: “to determine whether or not financial and administrative operational guidelines were adhered to in the conduct of the organisational activities.”
The four committees, which comprises eight members each including chairman and secretary, have three weeks within which to submit their reports to the state government.
